JALAL DEAL FINALISED
CHERRIES are today poised to complete the signing of goalkeeper Shwan Jalal on a permanent transfer from Peterborough United.
The 25-year-old has impressed since arriving at Dean Court on a month's loan towards the end of Cherries' pre-season campaign.
And chief executive Alastair Saverimutto today successfully concluded negotiations with Posh director of football Barry Fry to convert the deal to a full transfer.
Jalal has agreed terms on a two-year contract, with a further 12-month option based on appearances.
Peterborough stand to receive payments based on appearances and other incentives, although the finer details of the package are not known. The transfer is subject to Football League approval.
Meanwhile, Cherries striker Jo Kuffour is expected to finally complete his move to Bristol Rovers later today.
Kuffour is understood to be undergoing a medical and discussing personal terms with the West Country outfit this afternoon.
The two clubs have already agreed a fee for Kuffour, with the figure understood to have triggered a get-out clause in the 26-year-old's contract with Cherries.
Cherries are hoping to draft in an immediate replacement for Kuffour, with Swindon's Barry Corr and Brentford's Alan Connell both in the frame.
While Swindon would only entertain a loan move for Corr, it is believed Connell could be available on a full transfer.

I think that this is excellent news and a step in the right direction I hope that in good time the team will be strengthened and we begin to score goals and gain points in the process. I'm not going to moan about signing a competent keeper as we were short of cover in that department.
However what we do need is a 25-30 goals a season striker, especially as Kuffor has now gone as many of us predicted.

Any snippet of good news is welcome at this time. Depression seems to have set in after such a poor game against Exeter. It would seem the players may be suffering as much as the supporters, with such a mountain to climb this season. We have never before had to start a season in such adverse circumstances, so perhaps we should be a little more sympathetic to all concerned. We are all in this together so let's cocentrate on playing our part with some encouragement, rather than perpetual criticism.
Realistically we can only hope to stay in this division for this season,and all circumstances considered, that would be an achievement.

With the exception of signing Jalal who I believe to be a more than competant keeper.
Is it at all surprising that we are no longer an attractive club for players to come on loan to ?? Many players have turned us down over the recent weeks and who can blame them??. After all who in their right minds would want to join a club 15 points adrift at the bottom League Two and going nowhere??. I predicted this during the close season and yet there were those who disagreed with me. I now feel fully vindicated.
I do not blame Kuffour at all. It would have been a season wasted for him and the likelyhood of kicking off in League Two again next season is even more of an incentive to get away.
I have said before that we have made low quality signings so far of which wreak of just staying where we are and going nowhere.
Can anybody really argue with my previous post when I stated that the side is unbalanced, brittle, exposed, too lightweight, no fire-power in front of goal. We cannot seem to hit an elephants backside with a tennis racquet!!! The performance against Exeter fully backed this arguement.
This arguement is also strongly reflected in our current results and performences with only one goal scored from three league games with two of these games being at home!!!
Ladies and Gents, this stinks of relegation to me, and please do not state that we have on played three games etc etc. We simply do NOT LOOK LIKE IMPROVING!!!
Sadly, the game this Saturday at Port Vale has more than likely already been lost mainly due to what I have already stated.

I believe that Phil Brown was one of the candidates for the job and now look where he is managing now!!. The mind just boggles!!!

Good signing, and some commitment from the board, also looking at signing Connell full time, I hope the people asking for a new chairman are getting the message, as I said last week we have to give them time and see what they do in the transfer market, well hope you can now see things are happening, now all we need is the right man to lead them and everyone should start getting a little happier, I doubt it though as there are those on here who will never be happy with what's happening and whoever owns the club, why they are fans is beyond me at times.

Another positive post about the team, and you wonder why things are not going so well with this kind of support, if you want them to lose then that's what you will get, why is it so hard to want them to win, people on here love it when things are going wrong, I would love to see what they would do if things improve which they will, they will have no one to vent their anger at, come on cherries prove these doubters wrong.

Yes we can post on here everything is wonderful and optimistic but I wonder how many posters if asked honestly what they think will happen this season what their answer would be? Let's not be silly here. If we all posted great lads wonderful performance we are right behind you onwards and upwards do you really think this will make a difference to the team Saturday? Likewise if we are honest here I doubt the team even reads this so it makes no difference.

I know a fair few negative fans and I'm sure they do it so that they don't get disapointed when we don't walk the league.
That's fine if you want to be one but for those of us that like to hope for better and want to push on with the possitives find doom mongering counter productive.
It's much easier to rub a loss in someone's face then it is to offer solutions to the clubs many problems.
